Rules and Etiquette

SRC PegboardGeneral Club Rules

  • No transmitter use until signed in at race control.
  • The track is run anti-clockwise unless otherwise notified.
  • No running vehicles around the Pit and break out areas.
  • No marshalling without Hi-Visibility vest.
  • Goggles and Gloves available to all marshals.
  • No more than 10 drivers on the rostrum at any one time.
  • 10mph on entrance track.
  • No smoking except in designated area.
  • No drugs (alcohol only permitted at special events).
  • All vehicles must have a failsafe installed.
  • Do not climb on any of the structures on site.

Racing Rules

The following must be observed on race days.

  • Only drivers permitted on the rostrum during races (except staff/members representatives).
  • Stop/Go penalties are in place if racing etiquette is ignored.
  • During racing only marshals are allowed onto the track. No pit crew or spectators unless your car dies and needs to be collected.
  • Cars can only be collected from the designated safe area (see map).
  • Drivers will at all time take evasive action. Aggressive and/or excessive contact will result in a penalty.
  • Everybody must attend driver's briefings at the start of the day and prior to the finals.
  • All drivers MUST marshal the very next race.
  • When marshalling you should be watching your designated area of the track and not the race. Do not run across the other side of the track; let the closest marshal deal with the problem.
  • Wait for any other vehicle to pass before attempting to correct a crashed car to avoid hinderance to the running competitors.
  • When marshalling be aware of what is going on around you. Do not just run across the track to rescue a car unless you feel it is safe to do so. Not because someone is yelling at you, if the driver didn’t crash they wouldn’t need your assistance.
  • Place vehicles facing the correct direction as quickly and safely as you can. If the car has jumped track please make sure it goes back on the correct section of track.
  • Do not place cars back on the track in the middle of oncoming traffic! You wouldn’t pull out of a real road without looking!
  • Marshal as you would wish to be marshaled.
  • After the race is over your car must be placed in front of race control. This prevents it being a distraction when you marshal the next race.
  • Marshals will not return stalled vehicles to the driver; they will be placed in the designated safe zones.

Racing Etiquette

Please read and take note, otherwise ignorance may cost you a race.

  • Racing must be done in a ANTI-CLOCKWISE direction unless otherwise stated by race control
  • Bullying/aggressive driving is unacceptable
  • When leaving the pit lane, other cars on the track have right of way
  • Verbal abuse to any marshals is unacceptable
  • You must give way when being lapped in any race condition
  • Every car must always have a working failsafe
  • When countdown ends, racing/qualifying will start. It is the driver’s responsibility to be ready. LISTEN TO THE COUNTDOWN.
  • Racers must always be aware of the other vehicles on the track.
  • Marshals must always look before putting down a car (treat it like your own car)
  • Please listen to Race Control and race referee at all times.
  • Referees will be stationed on the rostrum (numbers permitting), their word is final e.g. they will notify you of any stop/go penalty and instruct you what to do.
  • Transponders will be available for your car before the start of each race from race control. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure it is securely fitted to your car before the race starts.
  • ALL transponders must be returned immediately after the end of the race. This can be done conveniently at the same time as when you bring your car to race control.
