News

17th Aug - WET!
Well a VERY wet start to the day but it didn't put anyone off!! We waited for the showers to pass, a little bit of TLC to the track and we were ready to roll!! Richard Cousins managed another TQ and a win so looks like he has run away with the Buggy Summer Series 2008, but it is not all over yet. One more round to be held on a new date of 07/09/08, don't miss it!

Hong Nor Cup - Rich and I are taking part in the cup, wish us both good luck and I may put a little something on the forum if you would like to see how we are getting on.

Enduro 08 Cancelled - It is a great shame but due to lack of interest the Enduro 08 is going to be cancelled. There was such interest when we first brought this to your attention but where have you all gone? Never mind, there is always next year!

New buggy date - As mention above, round 6 for Buggies will be held on the weekend the Enduro was going to be held, 07/09/08 so be sure to write that one in your diaries!

Sat & Wed track time - Until further notice the club will be closed on these days again. As always, if some one wants to organise a bash/practise day please post on the forum and we will make every effort to sort one out.

Sponsor me!! - C'mon you tight lot!!! I'm biking 90 miles!! even if it is just a pound, it all helps so please visit here http://www.justgiving.com/davidmcnae and help me out.

6th Aug - Odd!
Well it has been an odd couple of races for the Truggy over the last couple of weeks. One more round to go but it can all change so even if not racing, try and make it as I am sure it will be a very good day's racing.
Richard Cousins still tops the Buggy league, can he keep his cool and win on Sunday to keep that victory in his sights?? Who knows, I know I will be hunting him down for that first place finish.

AGM - We shall be holding our first AGM as soon as we can find a good venue (better than a pub!) and will post the date ASAP, I hope to see every one there.

Access track - I am sure many of you have noticed that some hardcore has arrived, this is for the access trck, to fill in the bigger holes. There has been a delay due to most weekends so far being taken up with racing but this is top of the list to be completed next. If any one has a low loader we can use for this please give us a shout.

Enduro 08 - Closing date is ccoming closer, be sure to get your paper work in FAST or you will miss your chance to race for 4 hours around the SRC track.

Sorry for the delay with updating both news and Leagues, I have been away so unable to get onto my PC, now my PC will not allow me to update the league!!! Our webmaster is on the case and should be sorted soon.

24th July - Buggy League Updated
Well weather wise was a fantastic days racing! Not the best of turn out for buggies but all in all an ok day. A massive shame that the A final was scuppered due to the Genny running out of fuel but all the A final runners banged there heads together and decided to have the end results as to how they were running when it died, see the league for the updated table and places. No new record broken on this day, makes a change from the last 2 meets!
So we have the next 2 Sundays dedicated to the Truggy league so any one that can make it please come along and help out or even better RACE!!

A few dates have changed for Buggy so check out the Calender to make sure you are upto date!

BaCkYaRdBaShErS.com are coming to SRC on the 10/09/08 to celebrate there 3rd Birthday! The day will be a free day to every one and any one so if your Grandmother would like to come and have a go with your RC, bring her along!!! The BYBers are a grat bunch and there is always some one willing to try and break there ride doing crazy jumps, so come along and enjoy the fun!! Be sure to bring some food for the BBQ!!

Thanks for reading, McFly.SS

17 July - Truggy League Updated
Finally some one has knocked Alan Major of the top spot!! Even better that it is me :-) Ok so Alan was not there to defend himself as sadly he has moved over to Motorbikes but im sure we shall see him a few times over the next few months.

Track conditions were very nice, no wind for a change and the little bit of rain we had the day before gave the track some good grip so again we now have another fastest lap! This Glory goes to Jay Draycott, well done for taking fastest lap away from me!

Fastest Lap Time Holder
Jay Draycott 13 July 08
47.070s

Truggy round 4 has been scheduled for 27th July 08 so make sure that one is in your diares to complete this very busy month of racing.

14 July - New Practice Dates / Hall of Fame
The track is now open on Wednesdays and Saturdays for practice or general bashing. These new dates are only MEMBERS ONLY days, however if you are not currently a member then please contact David McNae or Richard Cousins to see if we can arrange for a staff member to meet you there..
Check rules and calendar for more details.

The new Hall of Fame page is now up for earned bragging rights.

29 June - Buggy League Updated
Sorry for the Delay in getting the Buggy League updated, I have been snowed under with other work.

Well what a fantastic day it was for round 3, or it looked from the bush I was in! A great turn out, nice sun shine, just soooo windy but all in all a great days racing with a new record for fastest lap!!
Richard Cousins has knocked Sam Hall from the number one spot but Gavin Elmy took the day coming first in the A final but New Boy for SRC Stuart Kettless took TQ, is he going to be one to watch out for??!!??

Fastest Lap Time Holder
Stuart Ketless 22 June 08
47.670s

Sadly The SRC Olympics scheduled for today has been put back about a month due to staff just not having time to sort everything for you, we would rather the day was fantastic rather than just ok so please bare with us, but watch this space for another date!
SRC Enduro 08 is drawing closer and there are limited spaces, be sure to get your space ASAP!!

18 June - Truggy dates adjusted
Please check the calendar for the revised meetings for Truggy Rounds 3 and 4

17 June - NEW!! Covered pit area
We now have a semi permanent gazebo that covers the whole pit area so when the sun is blazing or the rain is.... raining we will all have somewhere to work on our rides.
We also have the materials to erect a roof over the rostrum, just need to find the manpower and time to get that one up.
Hardcore is arriving for the access track as well so soon you will have a smoother ride up to the track!
So it is all coming along now!!! Just waiting on the Astro Turf and we shall have an all weather club!

14 June - Don't forget the forthcoming Olympics event!
Event page now live, with more details to come

5 June - Points table updated
Young Alan Major still tops the league with 2 TQ win, who will knock him from his unbeaten title so far, will the next meet bring a new winner.... we all hope so.

The weather has not been on our side of late and the track has taken a beating however it dry out for the practise session held 18/05/08 although when I popped up the other day it still had some very big puddles. Every please do their sun dance for this week end and hopefully we will be ok. There may be a little bit of work needed to be done in the morning so please bear with all staff if we start late.

3 June - Truggy Round 2 Results / Buggy Rounds Moved
Results for Truggy round 2 are now posted. Buggy round 3 was rained off (short movie filmed on the day) and subsequently all buggy rounds have now been shunted back by one round ending on 14 September.
Don't forget Sunday 15th June is Fathers day, so there is unlikely to be a meeting for bashing. More news nearer the time, please check the forums for details.

7 May - Buggy Round 2
The results from round 2 of the buggy league held on the 27th are now posted.

21 Apr - Buggy Round 1
After some hard work during the week to get the track ready for this race, the track was looking good. Slightly damp meant a lot of grip so tyre choice was vital. New member for this year Gavin Elmy stole the lime light setting the pace and taking TQ and seemed to have stolen the day until a small error meant he lost his top spot and Sam 'RCSammy' Hall took 1st in the A main.

13 Apr - Truggy Round 1 Starts the Summer Series
Finally the weather allowed us to get the long await Summer Series off the ground, a small break for some heavy hail but otherwise I think every one would agree it was a fantastic day with David 'McFly.ss' McNae winning the first round after starting 3rd in the B main. Well done Alan 'Ferdy' Major for taking TQ which puts him top of the table for the moment with his 3rd place win.

4 Apr - Sponsor our man McFly.SS!
That crazy son-of-a-gun is doing another mad sponsored cycle ride this year for the British Heart Foundation. It will be from Oxford to Cambs, a total of 90 miles in the targetted 6 hours! He did this in 7 hours last year raising £800.
Please sponsor generously and help our fella reach his goal again this year. Click on the piccy on the right for more information>>>.

The track is available nearly every weekend for racing, so let's dedicate a bit of time to making it better and more enjoyable for the rest of the year! Bring large earth moving tools (wheelbarrows, shovels, spades, rakes, rollers, etc.) and plenty of energy!
